Raj qualified in 1998 from Dr MGR Medical University, India. His post-graduate training almost completely in the United Kingdom has provided extensive exposure in the field of oral surgery, and he has successfully attained FFD RCSI in oral surgery with oral medicine, confirming his academic knowledge and experience in the field.
He is currently working as a Specialty Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery at Royal Berkshire Hospital and available on Thursdays, Saturdays and some evenings.
Raj has published a number of articles in peer reviewed journals, and gives periodic lectures in Oral surgery and Oral medicine.
At the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Raj has developed teaching tools for trainees, including a video which is available on the British Association of Oral &Maxillofacial surgeon’s website on suturing techniques.
He has carried out a pilot audit on his own patients( >100 for 3 years) to compare effectiveness of two hemostatic agents in preventing post extraction bleeding and the data was presented at the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon’s scientific meeting in Barcelona in 2013 in the view of pursing a formal research project.
Raj has developed local policies for the Oral surgery Department, updates them constantly and recently designed a Safety checklist for Minor Oral surgery procedures under local anesthetic, based on WHO safety check list.
Raj had involved in providing Oral Surgery specialist service in Primary care for Berkshire PCT during the period January 2010 to May 2013 which was carried out at Gipsy lane smiles (Our Practice).
Raj is happy to take referrals for Wisdom teeth removals, Routine and Surgical Extractions under local anaesthetic and IV sedation.
Raj Lives in Reading with wife and 3 children and plays cricket whenever he finds time and enjoys eating outside.
