It is with great excitement that we announce the return of Ulpee R Darbar, a pivotal figure in creating the 2017 Periodontal Disease Classification. Her contributions as part of the International working committee have been instrumental in shaping contemporary periodontal diagnosis and treatment. By popular demand, Ulpee is back to share her invaluable insights and deep knowledge on this critical subject.
Overview
This evening session aims to take the participant through a stepwise journey of the 2017 periodontal classification, its interpretation and application in general dental practice. The challenges faced in dental practice will be considered and how to overcome them including communication with the patient will be explored alongside the medicolegal risks. Participants are encouraged to share their personal experiences for an engaging evening.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the session, the participant should:
· Explain the staging and grading of periodontal classification
· Discuss its routine application in general dental practice
· Describe its application when treating patients jointly with the hygienist/therapist
· Define the limitations as they apply to them and how they would overcome them
· Consider the importance of effective communication with the patient

If you are considering placing or restoring implants within your practice and are keen to receive mentoring and ongoing support this is the evening for you.
