Raj qualified in 1998 from Dr MGR Medical University, India. His post-graduate training almost completely in the United Kingdom has provided extensive exposure in the field of oral surgery, and he has successfully attained FFD RCSI in oral surgery with oral medicine, confirming his academic knowledge and experience in the field. Raj had involved in providing oral surgery specialist service in Primary care for Berkshire PCT during the period January 2010 to May 2013.
Raj is a Speaker for Thames valley deanery (Health Education England) and conducts Hands on Minor oral surgery course for General Dentists aimed to boost the confidence to carry out simple to complex extraction effectively including how to identify risks and manage complications in general practice.
He has recently developed a special course for dental nurses involved in oral surgery in the view of enhancing the nursing skills and to emphasize the importance of good surgical assistance for best outcome.
He has published several articles in peer reviewed journals and delivers periodic lectures in oral surgery and oral medicine. He is also reviewer of oral surgery articles published in International dental journals.
He is currently working as a part time specialty doctor in oral & maxillofacial surgery (Royal Berkshire hospital Reading and West Berkshire Community Hospital Newbury) and in general practice limited to oral surgery.
Raj is happy to take oral surgery referrals for wisdom teeth removals, coronectomy, surgical and non-surgical extractions under local anaesthetic.
