Registered Specialist Periodontology,
Registered Specialist Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry
Consultant in Restorative Dentistry
Ulpee graduated from the University of Wales college of Medicine in 1986 and went straight into a dental practice. After a year she embarked upon a career in the hospital in 1987. She made it to Consultant level in Restorative Dentistry a decade later.
Seemingly a natural leader, Ulpee has held many positions at Eastman Dental Hospital including Clinical Audit Lead, Clinical Lead for the Department of Periodontology, Academic syllabus co-ordinator and Lead for Referrals.
In her capacity previously as Divisional Clinical Director and now as Director of Dental Education at Eastman, Ulpee is a highly respected figure. Working as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, she has knowledge and experience that is unrivalled. She acts as a Mentor and Coach for trainees and newly appointed consultants and tutors and supervises trainees of all grades at Eastman so is a massive influence on the future of the hospital.
Ulpee is especially interested in aiding those with aggressive periodontal diseases as well as patients with a number of underlying issues contributing to an unmanageable level of dental health. She is renowned in her field and if she is not treating a patient, she is most likely researching to further her understanding.
Much of her time is devoted to educating dentists at post graduate level to give them the kind of expertise that will enable them to push on in the perio-implant area. Due to her tireless efforts, in 2011 she was awarded the UCLHT Medal for Excellence in Medical Education and has published extensively including the publication of books on implantology for dental care professionals.
Her work is not only restricted to Eastman though. Ulpee acts as a point of contact for various royal colleges and societies who see her value.
